Serum ATP levels in the CIE exposed animals were normalized by pharmacologic or genetic P2 × 7R inhibition. Serum ATP levels were lower in the BBG-treated–CIE-exposed and P2 × 7R−/− CIE-exposed mice than in the CIE-exposed mice. Statistics were carried out on fold change values (n = 5–7), **** p < 0.0005.
