Neutrophil maturation and recruitment Neutrophils develop and mature in the bone marrow. Mature neutrophils travel out of the bone marrow into the peripheral blood in the presence of G-CSF, GM-CSF, TLR ligands and CXCLs. Subsequently, cytokines such as CXCLs, IL-1β and other cytokines recruit neutrophils into the TME.
