TBI-HFD interaction amplifies VAT transcriptome changes associated with specific macrophage activated inflammatory states. Z-score sum normalization reveals that Sham-HFD mice had a significant increase in genes associated with adipose macrophage homeostatic, adipose macrophage DAM, and adipose macrophage pro-inflammatory phenotype when compared to Sham-SD counterparts. Furthermore, TBI-HFD mice displayed a significant increase in adipose macrophage homeostatic, adipose macrophage function, and adipose innate immunity vs Sham-HFD mice. Notably, TBI-HFD mice had a significant increase in genes associated with adipose macrophage homeostatic, adipose macrophage function, and adipose macrophage innate immunity, when compared to Sham-HFD counterparts.
